Dhaka Polytechnic Institute is the oldest Polytechnic
Institute in Bangladesh. It was established in 1955 with only 120 students in
the first year classes of Diploma-In-Engineering in four technologies, namely,
Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and power with the growing demands of mid-level
technical manpower home and abroad the Institute has since greatly expended.
The Institute now offers courses in Eleven technologies.
